Results of the Raghunatha Iyer Memorial Award ~

The rules of the Raghunatha Iyer Memorial Award have been altered. Instead of choosing a few poems for awards we decided it is much more sensitive, intelligent and well founded to select some poets who are most active on our site by way of contribution comments and essential participation.  So WHW has decided to grant the annual award to 12 poets for their active participation in the site in one way or another.  We have decided to do this, because we feel it celebrates this mutually delighting community, instead of creating a false sense of competition by glorifying one or two poems with an award.  Each of the following twelve poets will receive a prize of 40 dollars each and copies of two haiku books published by Eternity Publishers.  This is a gift out of our gratitude for their outstanding contribution to this site.  The gifts will be received by mail by the end of January 2008.

Update: Dear Members, We apologize for the prizes not going out yet.  There have been unforeseen delays due to the technical problems we have been facing on the site.  We will be contacting each of you shortly to get your addresses, so we can send out the prizes immediately.
