yes shyam...an indian bride throws cupped hands full of rice backwards over her head when she leaves her parents home...symbolically...
walks into her in laws home bare foot...
at the threshold she knocks a small urn full of rice forward into the house...with her right toe...then steps into a 'thaali' - plate of liquid red 'aaltaa' color...i guess 'green' as in prosperity is what follows the bright red auspicious footprints...symbolically...
