Dear Rebba ji ~ your haiku made me laugh. I knew there was something lying in wait to be said about that dangling drop of water and you said it !

call me rebba...shyam...the "ji" makes me feel ancient...
i've been drooling over the pictures for a while now...
i have to put a hold on my imagination...
that is only 'if or when' i suddenly realize i'm hogging space...

vishnu will admonish me soon enough...usually tells me to take it easy...
says speed and over indulgence bring on indigestion woes...
he prefers hard core haiku...
mine get kind of half cooked/baked...even runny at times...
he waters them down further...poaches most...
prefers them farm fresh and sunny side up...
pan cakes mine into form...
says a dash of drippy honey or a ~ of maple syrup...gives haiku pep...
i get a dose of eggnog every other day...
and to think he is a vegetarian...
the cut and dry ones get diced in any case...with saucy comments...
i waffle the rest...salt and pepper 'em in honey combed haiku...
the rest go into deep freeze...
i never set to form...i scramble...
even if the sign tells me "om'let"...i continue to feast on it all...

Narayanan is not a writer really.
He is a mathematician who writes.

So he expects a certain geometric precision in words... that's not a bad thing.

He's also a singer who paints.
A philosopher who dances.
A dancer who cooks (strictly world class veg).
A poet who takes photos.
A story-teller who sings (dhrupad, karnatik, khayal, bass etc)
A taantrik who elucidates set-theory.

He is a crazy yogi. That is not even the start of it.

Please don't feel admonished (I know you're kidding, but still)! He is a kind person.

By the way, you'd never be hogging space on this site.

Besides, we have infinite space.

I'm always little annoyed that more people don't comment and write haiku for these photos and just chat more in general. Maybe they lead other real and productive lives that's why. Beats me why they'd bother to :)

John's floating boat shadow is splendid.

This is some fine photo haiku we have here.

My photo has really fulfilled its purpose.

Apart from that I'm now hungry (thanks Rebba! :P) and it's morning. I don't have the luxury of striking a stash of frozen weeds by scooting down the stream. I must make my own breakfast.
