Cinema Pirate Drama: A Garland Tribute on the High Seas

Sailing

o’r rolling waves—

the Jolly Roger high

atop the mast, gallantly proud,

ready.

Look out,

sharp eyed, his scope

sweeps fore and aft searching—

“Varmints starboard, me burley mates!

booty!”

“Or’take

the scurvy rogues!

A Birt by her colors!

Spare not one cursed bloody soul.

To doom!

Full sheets

the brigands sail

their course, cannons primed--

the silent brig plows on, no life

on deck.

They board,

scouring decks--

but only the whisper

of ghosts and mayhem greet their eyes

today.

Very special and effortlessly formed in cinquain rhythm and the lingo is very revealing too. Thank you John Daleiden and Welcome to Wonder Haiku Worlds.
