Some weekends I wake up and am so inspired that I quickly make my way downstairs, rushing my wife off to whatever she is doing that day, so that I can start writing before I lose whatever spark it was from the night before fades. Inspiration is a delicate and fickle flower that can wilt in the best of environments. This morning was not one of those weekends. I arose with a completely blank slate, sat for hours staring out the window, only momentarily throughout that time glancing at the keyboard. This is the ebb and flow of life, somedays one is blessed with the insight of all majesty and others you notice the corners that were missed by the vacuum. I’m sure on a good day the dust bunnies would have been inspiring.

dull morning

I awoke and the haikus

scatter like sparrows

The ebb and flow of life, the constant process of becoming that we experience is part of the deal we have these hearts and brains of ours. For me, since then ... ah, warm morning -- / sitting with my haikus /
bathroom window aglow
