Carnival Festival

Posted by Keith A. Simmonds Sat, Feb 16th 2008, 02:03 :: English
Costumes scintillate in the sun, hearts beat and throb,
Feet trample the roads, voices and bodies gyrate.
Steelbands blare bewitching rhythms of calypso and soca
As revellers flow in a sea of glorious images and blazing colour,
To pay one final tribute to the Merry Monarch of carnival.
Inspired by Trinidad & Tobago carnival - Mardi gras - February 5, 2008

Dear Keith, this is a wonderful lyrical invocation of that carnival spirit. It is rich and full of the local ethos. I felt I was there !
