உணவு தரும் திருப்தி இன்றி வேறெதுவும் உலகில் தாரா

பிணவு இல்லை எங்களுக்கு என்பதெங்கள் முதல் பாடம்.

காணி நிலம் வேண்டுமென்ற கங்கணங்கள் இருந்ததில்லை

நாணி கோனி நா குழற பேச நாங்கள் அறிந்ததில்லை
உணவு மட்டும் போதும் என்றே வாழ கற்று வந்த நாங்கள்
கனவு இல்லா வாழ்கை வாழ சொல்லும் இரண்டாம் பாடம்.

The Cats' Lesson ~  

From the beginning there was no thought but for rats
No caste, no fights, nor have we destroyed another's home
The contentment of food is all that we aspire for, realize
Naught else is worth the effort: that is our first lesson

Nor do we have anklets to aspire for own fields  
shy, crooked, stammer talk we have not known
food is all we need, thus we have learnt to live,  
live without dreams: that is our second lesson
