Mon cher Rebba,
You know, this is only an ordinary streetcat with normal senses. I can not imagine what I must understand with ' the sixth sense', is this new age stuff? Kind regards.

My dear Rebba,
alas ESP is a controversial new age assertion!I don't believe in such things so I don't use my photos to promote them. For me a haiku is a simple and uncomplicated observation and not a projection about extrasensory allegation. I prefere master Basho above ET! Kind regards

Flaunting extra sensory faculties might surely be a dubious "new age" way to win friends and followers, but the simple existence of other subtle senses is a self-evident ancient knowledge. From Tantra to Tibetan Buddhism to Shintai to Zen to ~~~ . For aeons people have just known that they exist. In fact, the limitation to five "normal" senses is probably a recent scientific (Darwinian) abstraction, quite unimaginative and short-sighted! Then there is the new age scientist who pretends to be surprised at the novel discovery! Wow, ESP!! So, exactly why should there be only five senses?! (I dare anyone to give me a detailed argument) To insist on this just to win arguments is dishonest. Yes perhaps these perceptions are controversial, but it is the controversy-loving lot without this common sense that seeded the one-sided controversy.

It would have made more sense to Basho than us perhaps. What can you understand with these extra senses? Anything you cannot with the basic five senses, perhaps. They are the limiting case, and a seamless extension of our gross senses. Do you need them? Who else knows but you! Does anyone who claims to have them, really have them? Certainly not. A blind man tells his blind friends that he can see, and half of them believe him. Does it mean he can see? Does merely possessing these make one an unearthly authority? No, why should it? They simply are. End of story. Those who see them do, and those who don't, don't. Surely any belief in the "unseen" becomes an opportunity for confidence tricksters, but that doesn't deny the genuine phenomenon for one who has cared to see, who has seen, the unseen.

Dear Rebba and Shyam,

First, I adore Darwin! I have no doubt about his perceptions and as an agnost I don't believe in so called creationists. 'THE' truth don't excist, everyone must be his own prophet. With my photos I only try to promote haiku, haiga and haibun...Kind regards

Geert,

Now to me it looks like you are promoting Darwin with your photos by striking an argument to someone's innocent response to your photo. Actually, in a lesser sense everyone "promotes" their views with whatever they say or photograph or write. Although what they promote isn't necessarily what others derive from them! That is where we expect tolerance and respectful civility.

Darwin and Buddha(s) don't really go together, in my opinion!

opinion = an earnest attempt at fathoming the unfathomable truth!

If "the" truth doesn't exist then no one should attempt to be truthful, or correct another's point of view!

Dear Shyam,
a haiku for you and Rebba:

Darwin and Buddha
walking on the same beach
a salty scent

Buddha is Darwin and Darwin is Buddha. Alle things are united. Love...
Geert

Dear Sir Geert..

Actually Darwin is a liar suffering in putrid hells. He needs a Buddha to save him. This is the extent of their unison.

Kind Regards,
Shyam

Dear Shyam,

how sad is the agression in your words. I respect believers and non-believers.So please be consequent with your early words about 'tolerance and respectful civility'.
Geert Verbeke Wed, Apr 1st 2009, 12:47

Sorry, there is no aggression in my words. I was even being kind to Darwin by remembering that he will be saved. Don't mistake me, I respect you my friend more than Darwin or any idol of Buddha.

Quod erat demonstrandum est!

There is no agression in calling someone a Liar?
OK. End of story!

Rebba,
I only asked in question what 'the sixth sense' means to you. I was not calling someone 'a liar', simply because I am not qualified to do any judgement. I am only eager to learn. Sorry for asking my simple question...

Geert Verbeke Wed, Apr 1st 2009, 14:03

Agreed. I meant no offense to Darwin or anyone. I apologize for getting emotional and turning a discussion into an argument. Like many others I feel that his philosophy is a very errant and dangerous one and the root of innumerable vile offenses committed on simple people who believe in God(s) and the ancient ways and this great creation. (ESP, intuition, transmigration, subtle worlds ~~ these beliefs are all the stuff of children's tales at best for the learned Darwinians... they are calling all of them "liars" inherently) I believe I have a right to this feeling? Anyway, sorry and kind regards.
Shyam Santhanam Wed, Apr 1st 2009, 14:38

Dear Shyam,
What others are thinking of feeling about Darwin or God is their personal belief. In my belief there is no place for compartmentalization, denominationalism or sectarianism. I agree, there is less that I know for sure. Maybe Buddha is dancing with Darwin, maybe they are both laughing about our sayings on ‘Wonder haiku Worlds. ‘
Maybe flowers are the ectasy of the trees. Maybe we are all divine…Maybe we only have to allow what happens day after day. Maybe our language is impotent?
I don’t know…
Love you.
