Midsummer, Stockholm's Archipelago
Posted by

the midsummer morning
dawns bright and clear,
no threatening clouds above
schnapps and wine with
sill and potatoes, why,
a veritable smorgåsbord
light wooden tables
out in the sun, a song
with every schnapp
no cloud of mosquitoes
hovering above - a curse,
sometimes further northwards
white summer clothing, not
much of it - no wonder,
the summer is so short
dancing, holding hands,
around the midsummer pole,
with flowers in the hair
on hundereds of islands
in Stockholm's wide-spread,
wonderful archipelago
hundreds of angels watching,
changing colour (are they
chamelons?) with envy
but hundreds of teenagers
would wake up under the
blue sky, heads bursting
