Basho once wrote the wonderfull haiku of the Old Pond: Old pond Frog jumps in Splash! This poem was written on a spring day. He was sitting in his riverside house in Edo, bending his ears to the soft cooing of a pigeon in the quiet rain. There was a mild wind in the air, and one or two petals of cherry blossoms were falling gently to the ground. It was the kind of day you often have in late March - so perfect that you want it to last forever. Now and then in the garden was heard the sound of frogs jumping into the water. This scene inspired me to write the next six haiku. Spring day walking along the river cooing of a pigeon One day in spring cherry blossoms fall quiet rain In late March golden flowers bloom a perfect day Cooing pigeons petals of cherry blossom fall in muddy waters Splashing waters cherry blossoms falling gently the sound of frogs Silence petals of cherry blossoms fall so quiet Some of these haiku I already published in the haiku-department of our wonderfull wonderhaikuworlds-website. But I thought, 'Why not share all the haiku, which I wrote as inspired on Basho's haiku 'Old Pond'. For closure another one: departing cherry blossom petals fall so quiet |
Right now on this moment I watch my cherry tree in my backgarden and ... the first blossom opens. It's a wonder.
